The Wanted’s Max George facing weeks in hospital after health shock
Hours after revealing that he has a very serious health issue with his heart and Max George has suffered another scare.
The Wanted singer, who is in a relationship with former EastEnders actress Maisie Smith, said in an update shared on Thursday that he will be out of action for some time and is still undergoing tests.
Following his initial diagnosis Max shared a new devastating health worry the next day, admitting that it had been a ‘rough’ one.
In his latest clip he told his followers: ‘My heart rate dropped a bit this morning so that was a little bit scary.’
Max is doing his best to remain positive and explained why he is holding off on surgery for the moment. He went on to say: ‘Everyone here is amazing, I’m on it to get it [his heart rate] back upon again and stable which is great.’
‘A lot of friends and family are asking why I’m not just going in and having anything done yet. It’s because there’s so many tests that need to be done before we do anything.’
‘So I just need to get through until next week. I’ll get all the tests done and they’ll know exactly what to do. It will be better them doing it with all the information that they need.’
He thanked his well-wishers for their support and added: ‘Yep, it’s s**t but I’m still here and yeah, staying positive.’ Max who has struggled with alcoholism in the past has yet to reveal his condition but confessed that his diagnosis was ‘a huge shock’.
His problems began when he started to feel very unwell and was taken to hospital where tests showed that he has issues with his heart.
As things stand, he is undergoing tests to find out how serious his heart problems are. He said: ‘I have a lot more tests to determine the extent of the problems and what surgery I will need to get me back on my feet.’
Max admitted that: ‘It’s gonna be a difficult few weeks/months… and Christmas in a hospital bed wasn’t exactly when I had planned!
‘But, as always, I’m surrounded with love and support from my wonderful partner Maisie, her family, my family and friends… and I’m 100 per cent in the best place.’
‘Although this was a huge shock and no doubt a setback, it’s something I’ll take on with all I’ve got! I count myself very lucky that this was caught when it was.’
‘Apologies if I bore you with updates in the coming weeks… I’ve probably got a month in a bed and there’s not that much to do! Let’s do this.’
Max’s health problems come two years after his bandmate Tom Parker lost his battle with brain cancer.
