Man who assaulted Green leader Roderic O’Gorman while canvassing in ‘appalling, homophobic’ attack spared jail

Green Party leader Roderic O’Gorman was grabbed by the shoulders, called a “big fairy” and told to leave an estate as he was canvassing during the General Election, a court heard.
Karl Ronan (45) also pushed Mr O’Gorman off his property and threw Mr O’Gorman’s clipboard, breaking it off a wall.
