Woman, 50s, dies from injuries following Galway assault
A woman who suffered injuries following a serious assault in Co Galway has died in hospital.
The woman, who is in her 50s, was injured following an incident in Ballinasloe on Monday evening.
She died from her injuries in Portiuncula University Hospital yesterday.
Gardaí said the local coroner has been notified and that a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have any information on this incident to come forward.

A man in his 50s appeared before Ballinasloe District Court yesterday in connection with the incident.
