Palace gets shocking security breach as robbers break-in royal residence

Windsor Castle was struck with a major security breach as Prince William’s family was asleep at their royal residence on Sunday.

Two men had scaled the six-foot fence during the night to steal some farm vehicles from the property. The culprits used the stolen truck to smash the security gate to make their escape from the castle.

“They must have been watching Windsor Castle for a while,” a source told The Sun of the incident. “They would have to have known the vehicles were stored there before they broke in and known when was the best time to get and escape without being caught.

The insider explained that while there are security alarms set in the Castle, the break-in was discovered when the masked men “crashed through the security barrier at Shaw Farm Gate exit.”

“The barrier has needed to be replaced as it was so badly damaged,” the source noted o the gate which the Prince of Wales and his family has often used.

Just a few minutes away, Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis – were in there Adelaide Cottage, probably “tucked in bed.”

While William’s residence is “just around the corner” it is “still in the grounds” of Windsor Castle.

King Charles and Queen Camilla were not in the residence when the break-in happened.

Meanwhile, the investigation for the case is still ongoing.
